owning the keys to another world.

WHY RENT A LUXURIOUS YACHT?
The nautical charter offers a sense of liberty and flexibility that can’t be compared with the restrictions of the itinerary of a cruise or the immobility of a hotel as exclusive as those can be. it’s basically customized for you and your guests because it satisfies your needs and desires giving an unforgettable experience in luxury and relaxation but at the same time you are in contact with nature.

INITIAL INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED
To find the most suitable solution, we need to have as much information as we can, for example, if you prefer a sailing yacht or a motor yacht, what your budget is, are you a group of friends, a family or business people?
We want to know what your culinary preferences are and if you are often on board or mostly on land, the types of food that you prefer (to help determine what the chef will cook), if you have preferences as to places visited or if you need suggestions, what water sports you like and if you need a yacht made for kids with equipment that will entertain them.
Every single piece of information concerning your needs will be helpful for us in order to find the perfect yacht for you.

A FIRST SELECTION OF YACHTS
From the first phone call or email, we will send to you an initial selection of yachts: every yacht will be presented with a digital brochure and detailed information with prices and the terms of the charter.
After examining this information, you can call us in order to choose a specific yacht. Afterwards, once the suitable yacht is found, you will get a draft agreement with terms and conditions of your charter.
As soon as you have confirmed the charter, you will receive a ‘preferences list’ in which you can indicate your requirements, e. g. anniversaries or special events during the rental, dietary or allergy needs, water sports preferences, the sizes of coveralls, fins and wetsuits, magazines and papers that you need and your preferred drinks and wines. Using your answers to questions on all this, the yacht will be able to offer you the best service and allow the crew to prepare properly in advance.

TIPS
Rules about tips vary over the whole world and change according to the contracted area of navigation. Tips are obligatory but at the discretion of the renter in proportion to how satisfied he or she was with the service of the crew. However, the suggestion is to give tips at 10 % of the price of rent divided by the members of the crew.

ANTISOCIAL ACTIVITY
The owners of the yachts don’t allow the use of drugs, antisocial behaviour or illegal activity which could bring the boat and its owners into discredit and in some cases, lead to the confiscation of the yacht by local police authorities. The captain has the last word on these situations, and if his warnings get ignored he can ask the persons concerned to leave the yacht.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Once the yacht is selected. The broker prepares a binding rental contract. Most yachts are rented in the Mediterranean via a Myba agreement, the worldwide yachting association; this is the most suitable agreement for chartering a yacht, as it has the certificate of the most powerful yachting association in the world. A yacht that can be rented based on this contract is certificated by the association and this is the first warranty. Myba fixes specific conditions called WMT (Western Mediterranean Terms). charter rates paid by the renter include the rent of the yacht completely fitted out, equipment, insurance and food.
The rates charter don’t include fuel for the motor, generator, tender and toys; food and drinks for guests; port taxes and taxes if any ; water and electricity; laundry; communication (wifi) and everything not indicated under the term “the rates include”.
Also if the contract provides that a yacht from Monte Carlo needs to start a charter at Porto Cervo, or the other way round, the cost of the hand-in of the yacht will need to be covered. in the Eastern Mediterranean the terms are called EMT (Eastern Mediterranean Terms), generally applies in Greece and Turkey. in this case, rates include: rent of the yacht completely fitted, insurance, equipment, food for the equipment, fuel for 4⁄5 hours a day, rates for private marine, food and drinks for guests, communication and laundry.

The standard Caribbean terms (SCT) are usually applied in the Caribbean and under them, charter rates include: rental of the fitted yacht, equipment, insurance, food for guests, fuel for a number of hours that may change depending on the particular yacht. Drinks are extra together with the cost of personal communications, laundry and taxes.

APA (advances provisioning allowance)
The APA is the sum of money that is paid provisionally for expenses concerning the vitto of the guests, the fuel, port costs, excursions etc. Normally it is calculated on 30% of the value of the rental contract. For sailing boats, the percentage could be 25%.
An the end of the charter, the commander will leave the report of the costs, if the funds turn out to be insufficient, the captain will indicate this to the renter to ensure that the yacht always has an appropriate level of funding.

SALES TAX IN ITALY AND IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
in Italy, the law allows the yachts with a charter that has reduced Sales Tax(locally IVA), the percentage being based on the dimension of the yacht. Another factor that influences the level of this tax is the the port where the charter begins. If the first port in is in Italy, then Italian Sales Tax is applied. If it starts in Croatia, then Croatian Sales tax applies. The level of such tax needs to be confirmed from time to time, because exceptions to the rules can be infinite. Our brokers have expert knowledge of European legal régimes and the MYBA. They will guide you and help you clarify every detail of the contractual documentation, to simplify and speed up the process.
